As Account Director, you’ll be responsible for leading the Air Canada account team, implementing proven management techniques, developing effective content strategies, and ensuring profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall maintenance, growth and development of the account
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the Air Canada client
  • Develops growth strategy based on knowledge of the industry and the agency’s service offering
  • Acts as a client representative internally; provides feedback and counsel to internal teams based on conversations with the clients
  • Understands customer requirements and needs to offer suitable solutions and generate new business
  • Ensures that direct reports (account team) communicate client briefs, feedback and requests to internal teams in an efficient way
  • Is accountable for the timely and successful delivery of services and products to clients, working closely with the project managers
  • Troubleshoots issues with the clients, in a way to maintain and strengthen customer trust; escalates to executive Bookmark team when appropriate
  • Ensures account team clearly and efficiently creates client communications, documents and presentations, based on inputs from internal teams and ensures alignment with client KPIs & Objectives
  • Oversees account team’s creation of proposals and estimates for the different initiatives, defining scope, timeline and costs with the internal teams; ensures documents sent to the clients are as detailed and clear as possible, minimizing/preventing scope creep
  • Manages contracts and agreements with the client; negotiates with the client when necessary
  • Ensures that account team manages budget, creates change orders and processes client billings with accounting
  • Is sufficiently informed and involved, ensuring sound planning, good service and a solid client-agency relationship
  • Keeps his/her supervisor informed of the status of the accounts, including problems, plans and meetings; involves executive team and internal teams at key times
  • Assigns duties, goals, and supervises the account team members reporting to him/her

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a mid/senior client-facing role
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating a team while ensuring direct reports’ performance
  • Significant experience with implementing client management best practices, tracking documents and processes
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Experience in negotiation and meeting client requirements
  • Strong financial acumen; Solid understanding of budgeting and reporting on progress
  • Strategically-minded and creative
  • Critical thinker and commercially-driven
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with an aptitude in fostering long-term relationships
  • Ability to lead and inspire your team, clients, and other external partners
  • Confidence to take charge when necessary
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback
  • BSc/BA in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant field
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and other project management tools such as Teamwork
