Laura di ioia

What do you do?
My role is to successfully lead the delivery of our projects within Bookmark’s luxury brand portfolio. In other words, ensure that all projects are produced on time and efficiently while making sure the team and client are both happy.

What past experiences are you eager to share with your team/Bookmark?
Relationship building. I thrive on inspiring others, keeping them motivated, and ensuring that everyone can have a chuckle at the end of the day.

What attracted you to Bookmark?
The people. I am someone who has always been interested in those who work behind-the-scenes. It’s my colleagues who drive and motivate me to work harder and push boundaries. I’m also very much inspired by the creative heads of this company.

What aspect of your new job are you most looking forward to?
Being an advocate for all those on my team and those with whom I work. I like to break away from the standard way of working, and find ways to work smarter while having fun along the way.

In your opinion, what makes for good content?
Something worth sharing, something that can start a dialogue and get your juices flowing.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Anything and everything about food; cooking, ingredient shopping, reading about it all, and of course, I love talking about it. I am also someone who adores nature.

What’s the last thing you read/saw that inspired you?
The New York Times interview with Jay Z, when he speaks about the importance of open dialogue. Go watch it!

What are your top 5 must-see destinations?
– Uluwatu, Bali
– Sitges, Spain
– Havana, Cuba
– Florence
– Montreal’s Caffè Italia (no need to travel to Italy)

What is the one thing your colleagues have yet to find out about you?
I am actually very quiet. LOL, just kidding. They will just have to wait and see.

What is the one piece of advice that has helped you the most since you started working in this industry?
Build something 100 people will love instead of something 1 million people will like.
